Professionally, he is a solutions-oriented Senior DBA with 15+ years of experience, and is considered a Subject Matter Expert on SQL Server technology.
Robert is a published author, having contributed a chapter to SQL Server Deep Dives, Volume II, “What are you Waiting for: an Introduction to Wait Stats.” He also regularly contributes technical and professional articles to various publications, such as SQLServerCentral.com, MSSQLTips, SQL Magazine™, and more.
He also coined the terms HealthySQL™ and SQLFitness™ to kick off the world-wide HealthySQL campaign to highlight the need for regular health checks to ensure that everyone’s SQL Server environment has achieved HealthySQL.
He is a SQLCommunity/SQLSaturday evangelist/promoter and maintains his regular blog at SQLServerCentral.com, called Pearl Knows. He was voted Top Blogger in the 2011 SQL Mag Community Choice Awards. He is also the creator/developer of the award-winning SQLCentric — a web-based database monitoring and alert system for DBAs.
Robert is a SQLSaturday organizer and speaker, as well as co-chair of the successful New York Metro SQL Saturday.
